Migraines - how I overcome them using relaxation
I have suffered from migraine for about fifty years, but for the last forty years I have managed to rid myself of a migraine in about 10 to 15 minutes by consciously relaxing my brain and upper body, closing my eyes, sitting in an upright position and concentrating hard on relaxation.
My migraine begins with disturbed vision, ie an area missing from my forward vision, gradually a diamond patterned curl forms in the left or the right eye.
After concentrated relaxation the curl dissipates and wavy patterns appear in my peripheral vision, my forward vision clears and within minutes the migraine is over.
The onset of my migraine is generally due to stress, but it will only strike when the stressful situation has been resolved. I appreciate that not everyone's migraines follow the same pattern, but this method has always worked for me, and might help others.
I used to be terrified by the onset of migraine now I can relax because I can control them .
